Student Job Placement
I. For students who have worked on ABAC payroll before
A. Returning to the same department.
1. Check with supervisor to make sure job is still available
2. Go to Human Resources (third floor Student Center)
3. Pick up/complete a new Referral Form
4. Take Referral Form to supervisor
5. Supervisor completes and sends to Payroll
B. Looking for a new student job
1. Go to Financial Aid and get a statement of Work Study eligibility or none
2. Go to Human Resources to see what jobs are available
3. Interview with potential supervisors
4. Supervisor sends you back to HR with “hire” or “no hire”
5. If hired
a. Pick up/complete Referral Form
b. Take Referral Form to supervisor
c. Supervisor completes and sends to Payroll
6. If not hired
a. HR will send you to other supervisors to interview
II. For students who have never been on the ABAC payroll before
A. Go to Financial Aid and get a statement of Work Study eligibility or none
B. Complete on-line student orientation at: www.abac.edu/jobplacement/jporientation
1. Complete three payroll forms, W-4, G-4 and I-9
2. Complete two trainings, Right to Know and Coverage & Liability
a. Be sure to print the certificate at the end of Right to Know
b. Be sure to complete and submit completion confirmation
C. Bring completed orientation forms to HR with your driver’s license and Social Security card.
1. If a supervisor has already told you they will hire you
a. Fill out a Referral Form at HR.
b. Take it and all the other payroll forms to the supervisor
c. The supervisor will send it to payroll.
2. If you are looking for a job
a. HR sends you to interview with potential supervisors
b. Supervisor sends you back to HR with “hire” or “no hire”
1. If hired,
a. Pick up/complete Referral Form
b. Take Referral Form back to supervisor
c. Supervisor completes and sends to Payroll
2. If not hired at first interview,
a. Try other supervisors to interview with
