REGISTRATION AVAILABLE FOR ABAC PLACE BY WEBROOMZ

TIFTON-- WebRoomz, a provider of web-based housing management solutions, is now allowing students to reserve their rooms and select roommates online for the fall 2005 term at Abraham Baldwin College. Beginning this month, students will be able to use the system to handle all aspects of their leasing.

“Since 2001, WebRoomz has been providing unique housing management solutions for higher education,” said Jessica Harrison, Director of Public Relations for Place Properties. “Similar to Internet airline reservations, after students complete the room and roommate selection process, they receive immediate reservation confirmation.”

Place Properties operates the $32 million complex called ABAC Place on the ABAC campus for the college and the ABAC Foundation.

ABAC Place is a state-of-the-art living learning community which offers two-bedroom one bathroom, three-bedroom two bathroom, or four-bedroom two bathroom apartments that are fully furnished, complete with a finished kitchen including all major appliances. Each bedroom is individually wired for cable, phone, and high-speed Internet.

Community amenities include a pedestrian walkway with barbeque stations and gathering areas, and a Town Hall with a fitness center, a computer lab, an activity room, meeting rooms, study areas, and management offices. All 835 students who live at ABAC Place have private rooms with a double bed, ceiling fan, desk, chair, chest of drawers, closet, and extra storage space underneath the bed.

ABAC Director of Residence Life Bernice Hughes said it is important for incoming freshmen at ABAC to begin the housing process.

ABAC Place rooms are available on a first come, first serve basis,” Hughes said. “It’s important for students to go ahead and get their deposit in for fall.”
