ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

 

Position Title:             Admissions Counselor

 

Description:               

This full time, twelve month position reports to the Coordinator of Student Services.  This position is responsible for:

 

·         Managing a recruitment territory and collaborating with mentors to target specific populations

·         Setting and reaching recruitment goals

·         Building relationships with high school administrators, college administrators, and community leaders

·         Assisting in planning on-campus events such as Stallion Days and Advising & Registration Days

 

Additional duties will include:

·         Extensive travel to secondary schools, career fairs, PROBE fairs, etc

·         Conducting admissions counseling for a diverse population

·         Contacting prospective students by phone, in writing or in person

·         Hosting information sessions and tours for prospective students and their families

 

Qualifications:              Candidate must be a self-starter who is capable of excelling in a goal-oriented environment.  Bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree preferred.  Recruiting experience is desirable.  A successful candidate must have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of policies, procedures, and guidelines for admissions, financial aid, registrar, and housing.  Other important qualifications include excellent organizational and communication skills, ability and willingness to travel, ability to prioritize, and event planning skills. 

 

Salary:                               Minimum $26,000; final salary commensurate with education and experience

 

Closing Date:                   Screening of applicants will begin July 10.  Open until filled.
